Who we are:
The Newcastle Craft Mafia is a collective of creative, crafty and artistic businesses joined together with the common goal of informing, making, doing, networking, supporting and having lots of fun doing all of the above.
Founding Members:
Founded in 2009 by Leeanne (Sitting on the wall) and Cassandra (Gee How Quaint) Newcastle Craft Mafia quickly gained popularity in the North East and membership grew quickly into a creative hub of activity.
Today we are core team of 15 members (the decision makers) and 10 associate members (supporting members) who work together on a range of activities and ventures in the North East to promote our own businesses and the Collective of the 'Newcastle Craft Mafia'.
What we do:

The origins of Craft Mafia:
The Austin Family: The first Craft Mafia was founded in 2003 by nine crafty business women in Austin, TX. The group originally came together through a shared love for craft, DIY ethics and mutual respect. As the Craft Mafia developed it became a forum for networking, promotion and shared ideas. Since its development in Austin, other Mafias have popped up across the globe.
