How many buttons were in that jar

With our first Cluny Market having been a success we are already making plans for the next one taking place on the 20th of September. I could babble on and on and on and oh yawn and on about those amazing plans however there are probably a number of you out there wondering how a couple of our competitions went.
Well ladies and gents the competitions went a little like this
Guess How Many Buttons Are In the Jar This little guessing game was brought to you by Nuada Accessories. Gemma you lucky gem won the contest with her guess at 1200. The correct number of buttons in the jar was 1279. My gosh Hannah we are so surprised you didnt pass out from boredom from having to tally up that lot.
Mini Art Auction This was a mini art auction brought to you by the artist Cassandra Harrison. The lowest bid of 64p was imaginative if not a little bit cheeky. However Rachel wins the artwork with her bid of 16330. Thanks
And me...I had a lucky dip at Tara Scholes jewellery table and I won myse...

Needle felting mini workshop
I volunteered to run a needle felting mini workshop for members at our next family meeting . So armed with a carrier bag of sponges needles and various types of fibres off I went to the Tyneside Cinema. Those who were able to be there really got into the workshop even one of the staff in the cafe bar joined in It was a bizarre sight a group of craft people furiously prodding fibres into pieces of sponge .Great fun and we rather took over a corner of the caf233 bar it was a good job it was dry felting Thanks to the Tyneside cinema staff for making us so welcome .
Cant wait until the next meeting who knows what we will end up doing.

Amys story The one about the hedgehogs

Recently I have been moving house and in my little room I have also been beginning to make some new prints. I have been watching and supplying some biscuits to my friends hedgehogs in the back garden which has lead to making some new drawings. There is the prototype for a new two plus colour print of two hoglets nibbling. I also have made another print and got around to setting up a store on Folksy www.folksy.comshopsamyframpton. I did the Art Works Soiree with the other Mafia members which was very blowy fingers crossed for next time. In between the errr interesting weather I have been enjoying the outdoors trying to seek inspiration or next best a sun tan. This only works on occasions Look on the Northumbrian Wildlife Trust www.nwt.org.uk to find a park or reserve where you can enjoy some nature too.

Meetings Galore

Well we have been hophophoppin since banding together to make that creative force that is the Newcastle Craft Mafia. First there was the initial meeting with the three founders Leeanne Cassandra and Emma E then there was the first Big Meeting with many members of the group. The cookies were great. The sofas fluffy. Really Great Coffee gave us a cushy treatment.
This week we have been to The Centre for Life and as you can see from the Supporters Page which resulted in inspired ideas and clever plans. Today I Cassandra had a quick chat with the Art Works Galleries and how we can combine our creative grooviness for the good of all.
This is amazing We have only been a group for a month and look at what has happened. Some things by good planning and others by fortuitous decisions.
I am mightily pleased indeed.

I have been involved with the Stitch in 9 textile group from its inceptionin 2006 . We are currently 11 members strong we did start of with 9 hencethe name all from the North East and each with different skills formed asa natural progression from friendships with a joint desire to continue toexplore both individual and group creativity after studying textilestogether. We continue to use and expand our skills by working on themes ineach of our differing ways. While we recognize and encourage the styles ofeach of us we seek to challenge our boundaries as we work as a group both onpersonal pieces and for exhibitions. As a group we have had some greatopportunities to exhibit in venues across the North east and we continue tolook for challenging venues .We are planning at present an exhibition at thePeoples Theatre in Newcastle so my head is full of crazy ideas with notmuch structure as yet. I really do have to stop messing abo...

So...... for the last week I have been working on a variety of collections for a new shop that I will be stocking The Aln gift shop in Alnwick Im really pleased with how the designs have worked out and have my fingers crossed for them to do well
My jewellery can have a varied look just from encapsulating a different image. This helps to appeal to a range of customers.

I always start by drawing out my image as you can see from the photo above they are not always to the same scale that they end up in the jewellery I enjoy manipulating the drawings either by duplicating the images or simply by changing the scale.
If you need any help on getting your products into shops or how to go about it this is a really good website to help guide you.....I have just started so referring to this has really helped.... httpwww.ejrbeads.co.ukpricingjewellery.htm It can give you some good tips and make you think of something you might not off otherwise
I ALWAYS listen to music when Im working...
